First whiskey journal apps campaign checklist

Creator-powered user acquisition

A first whiskey journal apps campaign at founder scale. Numbered so you can stop lying to yourself about which step you skipped.

  1. Confirm a live listing whose first screenshot is a tasting note, not a shop actually closes. Creators cannot fix packaging.
  2. Write the avatar in a sentence: US English, 28-48, already bounced off a paper journal they spilled on and a Reddit tasting note they cannot find, watches ‘I cannot remember this bottle’ and Friday-pour videos at a kitchen table, 21+.
  3. Write the problem in their mouth: I bought this last year and I am guessing whether I liked the peat.
  4. Write what they already quit: a paper journal they spilled on, a Reddit note they cannot find, and a spreadsheet of bottles.
  5. Write what they watch: forgotten-bottle, Friday-pour, spilled-journal, ‘the Reddit note is gone’.
  6. Write the reject: the 400k whiskey-influencer whose whole grid is allocated-bottle flex.
  7. Write adjacent so the phone does not smear: Friday kitchen pours, forgotten bottles, not allocated flex.
  8. Put that sentence into the brief
  9. Scroll as them on a fresh Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube account. Example to look for: someone pouring a bottle they bought last year and guessing the tasting note. Signal: the same Friday-pour face two weeks.
  10. Keep a 50k average-view floor. Below that, $700 a post for 1k views is a money sink.
  11. Skip #whiskey as a roster method.
  12. Email. The contact is usually in a small kitchen-pour bio, adult. Name a real video. Ask for the phone number.
  13. If they won’t give a number, move on. Whiskey influencers quote allocated-bottle rates.
  14. On the call, Minimum View Guarantee. Example: $2000 / 4 posts / 1M views. Talent extra.
  15. Send the contract while the yes is still warm. Scout $1,500 / Outreach $2,500 / Dealmaker $5,000.
  16. Log a pour at a kitchen table, no bar-crawl.
  17. Tell them what to film: pour, write the note, drop the code. 21+ only. Do not ask for a bar crawl or a drunk video. Ask them to log one pour.
  18. Give each creator their own code. Unique App Store codes, not a bottle-flex.
  19. Do not run a launch day on the same morning if you wanted isolation.
  20. Two follow-ups, then stop. If you do this right, ie at scale, you will have many other creators to choose from.

Doing the scroll by hand is kind of soul-crushing. Like an allocated flex and you will leave the Friday kitchen table. No demo. No download guarantee. You approve every creator and every rate.

Forgotten-bottle rants already have the audience; a note they can write during a Friday pour is the product. 21+ only.
