What whiskey journal apps creators charge
I do not have a rate card for whiskey journal apps and I will not invent one. What I have is a filter and a deal shape.
The filter: roughly 50k average views. Below that they quote $700 a post for 1k views. That’s a money sink. Whiskey influencers quote allocated-bottle rates.
The deal shape: pay $X for N posts with a Minimum View Guarantee of Y. An example that is easy to hold: $2000 / 4 posts / 1M views. Balance those so you hit your CPM. Creator compensation is extra on every JumpTrend plan. Scout is $1,500. Outreach is $2,500. Dealmaker is $5,000. Those numbers are for matching, contacting, and paper. Talent is a separate invoice you approve.
Why email is where the money-sink happens
I prefer email. The contact is usually in a small kitchen-pour bio, adult. Don’t start the deal over email. Ask for the phone number. If they won’t, move on. Talking deal over email is how you get the first number. On a call I can explain a floor of views. Over email you just get “$700 a post.”
Forgotten-bottle rants already have the audience; a note they can write during a Friday pour is the product. 21+ only.
What not to pay for
An allocated-bottle flex with no note. Do not ask for a bar crawl or a drunk video. Ask them to log one pour. Skip the 400k whiskey-influencer whose whole grid is allocated-bottle flex.
The tag is allocated-bottle flex and bar-crawl talent.
What I actually measure
Unique App Store codes, not a bottle-flex. App Store installs with a unique custom code, 21+ audience. No download guarantee. No demo.
If they think the offer is too low, keep the same CPM and just up the numbers. Increasing your CPM should almost never be an option if it makes the product unprofitable. Move on. If you do this right, ie at scale, you will have many other creators to choose from.
