How to write a whiskey journal app creator brief
A whiskey journal app creator brief is not a media-plan age band. It is a session: a person, a problem, a pattern of watch-time. I write it before I open a fresh account.
The sentence I actually scroll as: US English, 28-48, already bounced off a paper journal they spilled on and a Reddit tasting note they cannot find, watches ‘I cannot remember this bottle’ and Friday-pour videos at a kitchen table, 21+.
Problem in their mouth: I bought this last year and I am guessing whether I liked the peat.
Already tried: a paper journal they spilled on, a Reddit note they cannot find, and a spreadsheet of bottles.
Watch: forgotten-bottle, Friday-pour, spilled-journal, ‘the Reddit note is gone’.
Reject: the 400k whiskey-influencer whose whole grid is allocated-bottle flex.
Adjacent: Friday kitchen pours, forgotten bottles, not allocated flex.

What to put on the page you send a creator
That later page is not the avatar brief. The avatar brief is for the phone. The creator page is: one mechanic, one CTA, one forbid list.
Mechanic: a tasting note that is not a 200-character forum post, or a bottle list that is not a spreadsheet. A live listing whose first screenshot is a tasting note, not a shop.
CTA: Pour, write the note, drop the code. 21+ only.
Forbid: Do not ask for a bar crawl or a drunk video. Ask them to log one pour. No medical claims. No fake “not sponsored” energy when you paid them.
Log a pour at a kitchen table, no bar-crawl. If they never open the product, the video will be a read-through of your website.
What to ignore
Follower counts, “micro vs macro,” competitor creator lists, and anything that starts with #whiskey. Those belong in the outreach spreadsheet, after you have names from a feed.
Also ignore “make it go viral.” An avatar brief cannot promise that. It can only promise match.
Example video to have in your head while you write: someone pouring a bottle they bought last year and guessing the tasting note.
Forgotten-bottle rants already have the audience; a note they can write during a Friday pour is the product. 21+ only.
Scout is $1,500/month for the list that comes out of this brief. You approve every creator and every rate. No demo. No download guarantee.
