First wiki-style docs tools campaign checklist
A first wiki-style docs tools campaign at founder scale. Numbered so you can stop lying to yourself about which step you skipped.
- Confirm a working wiki they can publish a public SOP to tonight actually closes. Creators cannot fix packaging.
- Write the avatar in a sentence: US English solo operator, 27-42, already bounced off Notion they use as a junk drawer and a Google Drive nobody can search, watches ‘our Notion is a junk drawer’ and ‘the contractor asked where the SOP is’ videos after a Slack pile-up.
- Write the problem in their mouth: The SOP exists and the contractor still pinged me in Slack because they cannot find it.
- Write what they already quit: Notion as a junk drawer, Google Drive search they do not trust, and a README in a repo the contractor cannot access.
- Write what they watch: Notion-junk-drawer, SOP-not-found, ‘Drive search is useless’, contractor-onboarding pain.
- Write the reject: the Notion-template seller whose whole grid is aesthetic dashboards.
- Write adjacent so the phone does not smear: contractor onboarding, SOP search, not second-brain flex.
- Put that sentence into the brief
- Scroll as them on a fresh Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube account. Example to look for: someone sharing a Notion link that 404s for the contractor. Signal: the same SOP-not-found face two onboarding weeks.
- Keep a 50k average-view floor. Below that, $700 a post for 1k views is a money sink.
- Skip #notion as a roster method.
- Email. The contact is usually in a bio that is a template Gumroad; write that you are the alternative, not a pack. Name a real video. Ask for the phone number.
- If they won’t give a number, move on. Template sellers quote pack prices.
- On the call, Minimum View Guarantee. Example: $2000 / 4 posts / 1M views. Talent extra.
- Send the contract while the yes is still warm. Scout $1,500 / Outreach $2,500 / Dealmaker $5,000.
- A page a stranger can open without a seat.
- Tell them what to film: publish the SOP, open incognito, find it in under 20 seconds. Do not ask for a PARA rebuild. Ask them to publish one SOP and open it in a private window.
- Give each creator their own code. Unique signup links, not a pretty dashboard tour.
- Do not run a launch day on the same morning if you wanted isolation.
- Two follow-ups, then stop. If you do this right, ie at scale, you will have many other creators to choose from.
Doing the scroll by hand is kind of soul-crushing. Like a second-brain video and you will leave the contractor-SOP people. No demo. No download guarantee. You approve every creator and every rate.
Junk-drawer rants already have the audience; a page a contractor can open without a seat is the demo.
