What wiki-style docs tools creators charge
I do not have a rate card for wiki-style docs tools and I will not invent one. What I have is a filter and a deal shape.
The filter: roughly 50k average views. Below that they quote $700 a post for 1k views. That’s a money sink. Template sellers quote pack prices.
The deal shape: pay $X for N posts with a Minimum View Guarantee of Y. An example that is easy to hold: $2000 / 4 posts / 1M views. Balance those so you hit your CPM. Creator compensation is extra on every JumpTrend plan. Scout is $1,500. Outreach is $2,500. Dealmaker is $5,000. Those numbers are for matching, contacting, and paper. Talent is a separate invoice you approve.
Why email is where the money-sink happens
I prefer email. The contact is usually in a bio that is a template Gumroad; write that you are the alternative, not a pack. Don’t start the deal over email. Ask for the phone number. If they won’t, move on. Talking deal over email is how you get the first number. On a call I can explain a floor of views. Over email you just get “$700 a post.”
Junk-drawer rants already have the audience; a page a contractor can open without a seat is the demo.
What not to pay for
An aesthetic wiki that nobody searched. Do not ask for a PARA rebuild. Ask them to publish one SOP and open it in a private window. Skip the Notion-template seller whose whole grid is aesthetic dashboards.
The tag is template sellers; they want an affiliate, not a Notion alternative.
What I actually measure
Unique signup links, not a pretty dashboard tour. Signups to a live docs product, unique link. No download guarantee. No demo.
If they think the offer is too low, keep the same CPM and just up the numbers. Increasing your CPM should almost never be an option if it makes the product unprofitable. Move on. If you do this right, ie at scale, you will have many other creators to choose from.
