Wiki-style docs tools vs a hashtag list
A hashtag list for wiki-style docs tools is a vocabulary tool. It is not a roster. I still scroll as the person who would pay for this tool on a fresh account.
People tag #notion when they want brands to find them. That is a real behavior. It is also why the list looks public. Another shop emailed a version of it last Tuesday.
The person: US English solo operator, 27-42, already bounced off Notion they use as a junk drawer and a Google Drive nobody can search, watches ‘our Notion is a junk drawer’ and ‘the contractor asked where the SOP is’ videos after a Slack pile-up. They watch Notion-junk-drawer, SOP-not-found, ‘Drive search is useless’, contractor-onboarding pain. Example: someone sharing a Notion link that 404s for the contractor. The same SOP-not-found face two onboarding weeks.
How I actually use a tag, then ignore it
Hashtag search is cheap and fast. You will learn the words. You will also meet the Notion-template seller whose whole grid is aesthetic dashboards, because that is who buys the tag.
Then I switch to the feed. Fresh account. Real phones. Linger, save, like, comment as if I were them. Once the algorithm is trained I take whoever keeps showing up. Ideally over 50k average views. Below that, $700 a post for 1k views is a money sink.
Like a second-brain video and you will leave the contractor-SOP people. Scout is $1,500/month because some founders will still want the list without becoming a hashtag intern.
When a hashtag is enough
If you are learning that contractor onboarding, SOP search, not second-brain flex is next to Notion-junk-drawer, SOP-not-found, ‘Drive search is useless’, contractor-onboarding pain, a tag is enough. If you are about to spend talent money, it is not.
The tag is template sellers; they want an affiliate, not a Notion alternative.
