First woodworking plan apps campaign checklist

Creator-powered user acquisition

A first woodworking plan apps campaign at founder scale. Numbered so you can stop lying to yourself about which step you skipped.

  1. Confirm a live listing whose first screenshot is a cut list, not a cinematic shop actually closes. Creators cannot fix packaging.
  2. Write the avatar in a sentence: US English, 28-50, already bounced off a PDF plan that assumed a full shop and a YouTube build that skipped a measurement, watches ‘this PDF assumes I have a tablesaw’ and garage-Saturday videos with a circular saw.
  3. Write the problem in their mouth: The PDF assumes a tablesaw and my Saturday is a circular saw and a cut list I had to reverse-engineer.
  4. Write what they already quit: a PDF that assumed a tablesaw, a YouTube build that skipped a measurement, and a paper plan they lost in sawdust.
  5. Write what they watch: PDF-assumes-tablesaw, garage-Saturday, skipped-measurement, ‘I just wanted a cut list’.
  6. Write the reject: the 600k shop-influencer whose garage is a brand-trip Festool wall.
  7. Write adjacent so the phone does not smear: circular-saw Saturdays, missing cut lists, not Festool flex.
  8. Put that sentence into the brief
  9. Scroll as them on a fresh Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube account. Example to look for: someone pausing a YouTube build because the cut list was never on screen. Signal: the same missing-cut-list face two Saturdays.
  10. Keep a 50k average-view floor. Below that, $700 a post for 1k views is a money sink.
  11. Skip #woodworking as a roster method.
  12. Email. The contact is usually in a small garage-build bio. Name a real video. Ask for the phone number.
  13. If they won’t give a number, move on. Shop influencers quote tool-haul rates.
  14. On the call, Minimum View Guarantee. Example: $2000 / 4 posts / 1M views. Talent extra.
  15. Send the contract while the yes is still warm. Scout $1,500 / Outreach $2,500 / Dealmaker $5,000.
  16. A plan they can open in a garage on Saturday.
  17. Tell them what to film: open the cut list, make one cut, drop the code. Do not ask for a 12-hour shop documentary. Ask them to follow a cut list with a circular saw.
  18. Give each creator their own code. Unique App Store codes, not a shop tour.
  19. Do not run a launch day on the same morning if you wanted isolation.
  20. Two follow-ups, then stop. If you do this right, ie at scale, you will have many other creators to choose from.

Doing the scroll by hand is kind of soul-crushing. Like a Festool wall and you will leave the circular-saw Saturday. No demo. No download guarantee. You approve every creator and every rate.

Missing-cut-list rants already have the audience; a Saturday plan for a circular saw is the product.
