Yoga apps vs a hashtag list

Creator-powered user acquisition

A hashtag list for yoga apps is a vocabulary tool. It is not a roster. I still scroll as the person who would download this on a fresh account.

People tag #yogaapp when they want brands to find them. That is a real behavior. It is also why the list looks public. Another shop emailed a version of it last Tuesday.

The person: US English, 28-42, already bounced off Down Dog subscriptions and a studio intro pack they used twice, watches ‘yoga apps that talk too much’ and tight-hip-from-sitting videos after they close the laptop. They watch home-practice fails, ‘I will not do a 60-minute class after work’, tight-hip-from-sitting, studio-price rants. Example: someone skipping a 45-minute class preview and sitting back down at the laptop. The same tight-hip-from-sitting face two weeknights in a row.

How I actually use a tag, then ignore it

Hashtag search is cheap and fast. You will learn the words. You will also meet the 300k flexibility creator selling a 30-day split challenge, because that is who buys the tag.

Then I switch to the feed. Fresh account. Real phones. Linger, save, like, comment as if I were them. Once the algorithm is trained I take whoever keeps showing up. Ideally over 50k average views. Below that, $700 a post for 1k views is a money sink.

Like a split-challenge video and the phone will leave the desk-hip people. Scout is $1,500/month because some founders will still want the list without becoming a hashtag intern.

When a hashtag is enough

If you are learning that desk tightness, 12-minute floors, not ashram aesthetics is next to home-practice fails, ‘I will not do a 60-minute class after work’, tight-hip-from-sitting, studio-price rants, a tag is enough. If you are about to spend talent money, it is not.

The catalog is studio teachers selling challenges and mats, not a short utility class.
