Creator Marketplace vs JumpTrend to Launch a Campaign

Creator marketplaces are real. Brands book, creators apply or list rates, sometimes there is escrow, sometimes there is a Shopify rail. JumpTrend is a different job: scrolling as the customer on real phones and returning who that feed is already pushing. This page is for a founder trying to launch a first influencer campaign without buying a catalog because a search result said “marketplace.”

A marketplace answers who signed up to get deals. JumpTrend answers who the customer is being shown this week. You can like both. You should not confuse them.

The product page for the JumpTrend job is jumptrend.co/campaigns.

What a marketplace is (fairly)

A two-sided catalog. Creators want to be hired. Inventory is who applied or who listed. Adjacent products (huge creator databases, outreach-first Shopify tools, UGC talent networks) steal the word because it converts.

Marketplaces are good at volume, applications, media kits, and a coordinator workflow. If you have many SKUs, a gifting operation, and creators who want to apply to you, that is their buyer. Grin-class CRMs and Influencer Hero-class drips sit next to this, not as insults, as other jobs. See JumpTrend vs Influencer Hero and the category page Creator marketplace vs feed discovery.

They are weak at telling you who TikTok is serving a specific person tonight. A public casting call for an indie iOS utility attracts volume you cannot brief.

What JumpTrend is (fairly)

You define an avatar. JumpTrend scrolls TikTok and Instagram on real phones as that person. Scout is $1,500/month for the list. Outreach is $2,500 if you want contacting and follow-up. Dealmaker is $5,000 if you want contract generation you approve. Creator fees extra. No demo, no sales call, no download guarantee. You approve every creator and every rate.

Creators do not apply to a JumpTrend catalog. There is no storefront to browse. Matching is the product.

When a marketplace is the right tool

Marketplaces start from inventory. JumpTrend starts from a session.

People tag what they want brands to find. People list themselves where brands are shopping. The For You page is neither of those. If your user would not recognize the handle, a polished marketplace profile does not fix it.

A database is a cousin, not a twin. Databases (Modash-class) index who exists. Marketplaces recruit who wants in. Neither is a warmed phone. Honest split vs the index: JumpTrend vs Modash.

I built JumpTrend because scrolling as the customer is the part that actually changes who you email. I did not build it to replace a CRM for a store catalog.

Who should use which

Marketplace if: you have a coordinator, physical or shoppable goods, and you want people to apply to a brief you will actually read.

JumpTrend if: you have a live app, you need names this week from the people the customer already watches, and $1,500-$5,000 is the budget band that does not require a meeting.

A database if: you need emails and filters at scale on a huge pile, or enrichment on handles you already trust.

DIY if: you will actually warm a dedicated session this month. Same method. Soul-crushing at volume.

Neither yet if: the app is not live or the listing cannot close.

What this page will not say

We will not claim marketplace creators have worse audiences. Self-selection is a bias, not a moral. We will not claim JumpTrend’s phones see a secret graph. They see a session you specified. We will not invent a reply rate or a ROAS for either side.
